Rumors of Apple bringing in NFC enabled iPhone 5 later this year are catching more and more momentum.Near Field Communication (NFC) is a promising technology that might well change how we interact with our surroundings. Once more and more apps and parts of the ecosystem get on board this system, things would flow much faster. Apple considering or implementing NFC is a big deal as iOS has over a 100 million devices out there.

With its own WiFi and 3G versions it was no brainer that the iPad won’t tether with the iPhone. However it took and email to Steve Jobs by someone to confirm the same. And here is the reply from Apple CEO – NO!

Apparently Jezper Söderlund emailed Steve Jobs and asked “Will the wifi-only version [of the iPad] somehow support tethering thru my iPhone?”. The reply was “No.” Full headers of the email here.
