MacDefender Malware Bypasses Apple Security Update 2011-003

Within hours of release, a new version of MacDefender mutates to bypass the Apple update 211-3. Several other variants of the MacDefender have been earlier spotted and fixed through a software update. But the frequent release of another version instantly after one security update Apple is a matter of concern. Apparently this installs via a spammers spreading the word about a new version of that gives some extra (“best performance, newer and security.”) for iPad users. Over the past few weeks as the news of iPhone worms struck us hard, highlighting the dangers of a jailbroken / touch; a report now suggests that the non-jailbroken Stock iPhone’s aren’t as safe as they are perceived either. iPhone developer Nicholas Seriot has posted his findings which show a number of possible loopholes, that can allow a hacker to compromise the iPhone.
