Despite of the tremendous natural disaster, Apple is all set to release the iPad 2 in Japan on April 28. The launch is exactly after a delay of a month due to the tsunami & earthquake that did a huge destruction in various parts of the country. Apple continuous improvements in iPad 2 online shipping in US & UK could be the indication towards the iPad 2 debut in India as well.

iSuppli has reported that Apple iPad 2 supply could be affected due to the disaster in Japan. Major parts (not all) are supplied from the country which is currently suffering from difficult time due to the massive earthquake in the beginning and Tsunami later. Apple has delayed iPad 2 in japan due to the recent Tsunami and Earthquake crisis until country recovers.

“We are delaying the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan while the country and our teams focus on recovering from the recent disaster,” spokesperson Nat Kerris told Digital Daily. “Our hearts go out to the people of Japan, including our employees and their families, who have been impacted by this terrible tragedy.” (more…)

Apple has official made an iTunes page to help those who suffered from natural disasters such as Tsunami and Earthquake in Japan. All of yours donation will directly go to American Red Cross. The main aim for creating this page seems to help those who actually want to donate through some trusted sites. The donation starts from $5.00 and end up to $200. It seems that the CDMA iPhone 4 is heading out of US even before Verizon starts selling them. Akhiabaranews is reporting that KIDDI’s AU is all set to be the second carrier in Japan to carry an iPhone (which would be the CDMA version). Currently Softbank sells the iPhone 4 in Japan and is extremely popular. This sure raises our expectations of a CDMA iPhone 4 in India aswell (Reliance and tata are believed to be the runners)!

The survey of 2300 retail stores by Nikkei.net revealed that iPhone 3G 8GB and 16GB are the #1 and #2 smartphones in Japan respectively.

Not very convincing to me, but it seems that iPhone 3G 8GB is the most popular (as per sales) smartphone in Japan. Earlier we had reports of extremely poor sales of iPhone in India and apparently Vodafone promoting Blackberry Storm over the iPhone 3G here. But Japan is a completely different ball game, (more…)
