Apple has silently pulled the API that it first released in JUNE as a part of its Mobile Device Bundle. This API coming in with iOS 4.0 allowed access to system files that are altered to jailbreak a device and determine if they have been jailbreaked. This helped enterprise apps makers to ensure that no unsecured / jailbreaked iPhone, iPod touch / iPad connects to the enterprise servers. Apple continues acquiring new patents for their device and the newest patent which Apple has acquired will detect the users heartbeats. Biometric recognition is not a new technology, we have already seen systems identifying, fingerprints, eyes and faces but sensing the heart beat maybe a different experience.
